The Mission of the Sitka Economic Development Association is to: Foster a business climate that is receptive and conducive to existing and new business, help promote the creation of family wage job, enhance the quality of life for Sitkans.

Alaska Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

SBDC helps small businesses grow throughout Alaska via its expanding online resources and business management expertise.

Small Business Guaranteed Loan Program

"There shall be established the small business guaranteed loan program. A majority of a committee composed of the administrator and two members of the long-range planning and economic development commission designated by that commission is authorized to issue on behalf of the city and borough guarantees of private-sector loans to small businesses under the conditions set out in this chapter." (Ord. 03-1719 § 4 (part), 2003.)

Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program

The City and Borough of Sitka (CBS) established a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program in accordance with regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), 49 CFR Part 26. This is a policy of the CBS to ensure that DBEs as defined in Part 26, have an equal opportunity to receive and participate in USDOT-assisted contracts.
