The Public and Government Relations Director, Melissa Wileman serves as the primary City and Borough of Sitka director for institution-wide communications, media contacts, government relations, legislative and congressional issues and advocacy, and agency and public issues.
The Public and Government Relations Director acts as the Public Information Officer for the City and Borough of Sitka. This position monitors and responds to issues affecting Sitka, state and federal regulations and proposals, and manages major issues. It directs institutional and special projects and initiatives affecting the City and Borough of Sitka and explores and pursues grant opportunities available to the municipality.
