According to the Home Rule Charter, the Municipal Administrator is the chief administrative officer of the City and Borough of Sitka (CBS). It is his responsibility to direct the operation of the entire City and Borough, including, but not limited to, the hiring and supervision of department heads and the oversight of Municipal property, public works, and budget. He keeps the Assembly informed as to the finances and budget of the CBS and attends and takes part in Assembly meetings and other Municipal business.

The Municipal Administrator's Office is responsible for the day-to-day administration of Sitka's government, including managing the city's budget, the city's departments and operations, and programs for communications with residents and employees.

The Municipal Administrator's Office encourages and oversees the efforts of all city departments to promote participation in your local government. The office, along with all other city departments, strives to provide you with information about city projects, considerations before the Assembly, and other issues that impact you.

Office of the Municipal Administrator

The Municipal Administrator's Office, located on the third floor of City Hall, is open Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Information available from the Municipal Administrator's Office includes Assembly meeting dates, agendas and minutes, copies of City ordinances, Assembly voting records, and membership lists of official City boards, commissions and committees.
