During the summer of 2007 Intern Amy Heinemann, a graduate student at Yale University worked at the Sitka Electric Department with the Sitka Conservation Society to study Sitka's community-wide energy use. Her work was funded by a grant from the Alaska Conservation Foundation. She produced six brochures with current information to help Sitkans save energy costs.
